About Keysville Post
Keysville
Post is located just four miles from historic Flint Hill, Virginia,
in the rolling countryside of lovely Rappahannock County. The main
house at Keysville Post was built around an 1800 log cabin which was
moved to the site by Colonel Sterling Larrabee. He added a kitchen
and a bedroom and used the house as a hunting lodge. Colonel Larrabee
founded the Old Dominion Hunt from here. The house had many later renovations,
and a tour of the grounds at Keysville Post will reveal a sunken stone-walled
rose garden, an in-ground swimming pool, a center aisle barn with 7
stalls and heated tack room, a one-bedroom barn loft apartment, and
a charming Victorian guest cottage -- not to mention stunning views
of the surrounding countryside.
